Li-Fi soon to replace WiFi?Faster Than Wifi?

  • Li-Fi, a LED-based broadband technology will soon replace WiFi
  • An engineering professor developed the technology in 2011
  • He said Li-Fi transmit larger data at a much greater speed
  • The technology will be out in the market within 2 to 3 years
An Edinburgh professor is on the verge of another breakthrough in communications technology that will soon replace the WiFi (wireless fidelity) as the main access to the internet in home, offices and public places.

Li-Fi explained
Li-Fi is a bi-directional, high-speed and optical networking technology which uses off-the-shelf LED bulb with incorporated chips to transmit data, just as WiFi does.
The chip is mainly used to rapidly modulate the intensity of light in order to encode binary data as ones and zeros. The light is from these bulbs is then receive by the device photoreceptors.
The LED can send large amount of data which simply looks like a white light to the human eye.

Canadian inventor tests new prototype of record-setting hoverboard!broke the world record for the longest hoverboard flight.

This past May, Montreal inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru
broke the world record for the longest hoverboard flight.
Duru flew up to five metres above a lake for a distance of 275.9 metres aboard his homemade, propeller powered hoverboard in a trip that lasted more than 1½ minutes.
Now, Duru is working on a secret, next-generation version of the device. Watch as he takes CBC's Reg Sherren into his workshop, where he is building it, and then to a Quebec lake where he puts the new prototype to the test for the first time.

Khan: “I am no longer fighting Manny Pacquiao”“They know I am a tricky fight for him and they know I will beat him.

  • Amir Khan pulled out of the negotiations with Manny Pacquiao
  • He accused Team Pacquiao of delaying the deal
  • He believes Pacquiao is being advised against fighting him
“I have pulled out of the negotiations. I am no longer fighting Manny Pacquiao.”
These were the words of British fighter Amir Khan days after saying he’s already “75 percent” sure to close the deal for a fight against Manny Pacquiao.
The 28-year-old fighter revealed in a report by The National he is disappointed with the “Pambansang Kamao” and his team for delaying the deal when all that’s needed to do is to sign the contract. He believes Pacquiao is being advised against fighting him.
He said: “I’m really disappointed in Manny and his team. They aren’t playing ball. All that was left to do is to sign the contract. But they are stalling.”
“They know I am a tricky fight for him and they know I will beat him. Or else, why pull out of a fight when there is a lot of money on the table?”
Khan said he won’t wait around for Pacquiao like what he did for Mayweather. He disclosed he has other targets that he wanted to fight, not just Pacquiao.
“I already had a back-up plan drawn up in case the Pacquiao fight didn’t go to plan. We are looking at a Danny Garcia rematch. I also would like to fight Tim Bradley; that’s another interesting fight. A rematch with Lamont Peterson and, of course, Kell Brook is also another option,” he said.
Khan said in the past he wanted to fight Pacquiao because he sees the Filipino boxing champion as the key for him to snatch Mayweather’s pound-for-pound spot.
In a report shared by Sporting News, Khan said: “I am very interested in a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Obviously he’s ranked No. 2 in the world with big names. I feel like I should be fighting big names. I’d love to fight Manny Pacquiao and obviously someone has to take that position from Floyd Mayweather.”

Spencer Seabrooke, 26, walked across the 210ft rope! No support rope despite being 951ft from the ground

  • Spencer Seabrooke, 26, walked across the 210ft rope in British Columbia
  • The daredevil had no support rope despite being 951ft from the ground
  • He broke the world record for the longest free solo slackliner by seven metres despite nearly falling off at the start

Nearing the end of the rope, the daredevil remains composed and doesn't hurry despite having the finish line in sight.
Two paces to go and Seabrooke makes one large step on to the rock face, before jumping on to the grassy bank.
Having broken the world record by seven metres, the slackliner leaps up with his arms in the air, jubilantly celebrating his new record.
His supporters on the other side show their appreciation of his phenomenal achievement, applauding the new world record holder.
Speaking afterwards, Mr Seabrooke revealed what motivated to keep doing the dangerous sport: 'Without a doubt, it's the fear of falling that keeps you alive.'
'There's no lines at all, so if I hadn't caught the line in those moments, I would've been mashed potatoes after a seven-second free fall,' he told the Huffington Post.
Slacklining is similar to high rope walking with the notable difference that the rope webbing is a bit more slack and loose.
Spencer Seabrooke is an experienced slackliner, who prefers to add an added element of danger to the normally safe sport by not using a safety support line.

Iran Test Fires Long-Range Missile, Possibly Violating Nuclear Deal

The Iranian regime's sham conviction of an American journalist today -- reportedly a maneuver designed to help precipitate a prisoner exchange -- comes on the heels of yet another egregious provocation. The New York Times reports:

Iran tested a new guided long-range ballistic missile on Sunday, hours before Parliament, in a rowdy session, approved the generalities of the nuclear agreement reached in July between Iran and world powers, the state news agency IRNA reported. The missile launch may have violated the terms of the agreement, reached in Vienna with six world powers. According to some readings of the deal, it placed restrictions on Iran’s ambitious missile program. Experts have been debating the interpretation of a United Nations Security Council resolution, adopted a few days after the accord was agreed upon, that bars Iran from developing missiles “designed to carry nuclear warheads.”

Who's to say, really?  After all, our Secretary of State already handed out a preemptive hall pass to Tehran, signaling that the regime could violate certain elements of the deal without nullifying the entire agreement. The pact supposedly maintained restrictions on Iran's rogue ballistic program for a number of years (phasing them out at all was a shocking concession), a timetable the regime appears to be aggressively ignoring.  These advanced missiles are said to have a range of 800 miles; this further endangers Israel, whose leader's strenuous opposition to Obama's deal has been cast as racist by Susan Rice. Another sad detail of the Times story:

Also on Sunday, members of Parliament voted in favor of a bill approving the generalities of the nuclear agreement, but they had been denied information on its details. State television broadcast the session using only audio and archived images of Parliament...The bill allows the government to stop carrying out the nuclear agreement if the six world powers fail to lift sanctions.

Even Iran's so-called "representatives" held an up-or-down vote on this agreement, even if the outcome was preordained and/or toothless.  Meanwhile, back in our actual constitutional republic, Senate Democrats obstructed any Congressional vote on this enormously consequential international accord -- about which many of them have purported to harbor serious reservations -- for the sole purpose of sparing President Obama the political humiliation of rejecting Congress' strong, bipartisan verdict on the matter.  It appears as though the Iranian regime made, ahem, "common cause" with the Obama administration by withholding details of the pact from legislators, which represents a violation of US law. The Iran nuclear deal crosses multiple American red lines, pumps roughly $150 billion in sanctions relief into Iran's beleagured economy, extracts no significant concessions from the regime, and virtually guarantees that Iran will be an internationally-blessed threshold nuclear state within 10 to 15 years.  And that's if they don't cheat.  Which it appears they're already doing, as they so often have, with impunity.  The administration has reportedly shirked its sanctions-enforcement duties against Iran for two years, and will undoubtedly ignore credibly claims that lifting certain sanctions under the agreement's terms would violate another federal law signed by this president in 2012.  For what it's worth, the 2016 attack ads have already started flying:

Malaysian Plane Flight MH370 Found on the remote Philippine island?

Plane wreckage 'containing many skeletons and painted with the Malaysian flag is found on remote Philippine island'... but could it REALLY be Flight MH370?

    • Woman claims she stumbled across smashed fuselage in thick jungle
    • She found 'many human skeletons and bones' after climbing into debris
    • Also found 'Malaysian flag measuring 70 inches long and 35 inches wide'
    • Police reserved about report but have not ruled out link to Malaysian jet
    • But scene in relation to MH370 flap find in Indian Ocean makes it unlikely

  • Plane wreckage containing 'many skeletons' and painted with the Malaysian flag has reportedly been found in the Philippines, prompting speculation it could be missing Flight MH370.
Police confirmed they had received reports of the discovery in thick jungle on the remote island of Sugbai in Tawi-Tawi province.
An audio technician, Jamil Omar, contacted police in Malaysia to say his aunt, Siti Kayam, had stumbled upon the wreckage while she and others were hunting for birds.
Police commissioner Jalaludin Abdul Rahman, based in neighbouring Borneo, said the woman claimed she climbed into the smashed fuselage and saw skeletons.

Speculation grew that the wreckage could belong to the missing Malaysia Airlines flight that disappeared in March last year with 239 people on board.
Police remain reserved about the report, mindful of confirmation by French authorities that part of an aircraft wing – a flaperon – found on the island of Reunion in the west of the Indian Ocean earlier this year had been confirmed as being from MH370.
It would be unlikely that the flaperon had been able to drift from the Philippines to Reunion, given that land – Borneo, the Malaysian mainland and parts of Indonesia – would be in the way.

However, police are understood to have not dismissed the possibility that the flaperon could have broken off from the aircraft after it took off in March last year to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, the missing part causing the pilots problems in handling the jet.
Adding to the general mystery is the report by oil rig worker Mike McKay who told the Mail exclusively earlier this year that he stood by his observation of an 'aircraft on fire' as he stood at night on his rig off the southern tip of Vietnam.
For MH370 to have come down on remote Sugbai island, it would have had to divert from its north east course after take off and head due east towards the lower Philippines islands.
A catastrophic disaster, an explosion, a fire, or even a hijacking, could have resulted in it veering around the skies, experts have said.
Australian, Malaysian and Chinese authorities have been sharing information based on satellite signals that have resulted in an intensive search of waters south west of Australia in the southern Indian Ocean.
Despite high-tech scouring of the waters and the ocean floor, there has been no sign of the plane in that area, the only discovery confirmed as being from the aircraft being the flaperon found earlier this year on Reunion.
Whether the mystery of the plane's final resting place along with its 239 passengers and crew will be solved with the latest report of 'wreckage' is expected to be known within the next day or so.
Police in Sabah, in northern Borneo, confirmed that Mr Omar had called in at the police headquarters to personally lodge a report about the wreckage.

It would be unlikely that the flaperon (above) had been able to drift from the Philippines to Reunion, given that land – Borneo, the Malaysian mainland and parts of Indonesia – would be in the way

Mr Jamil, who produced his identity card to police, said his aunt had not been able to provide the information earlier because there were no facilities on the island.
'So my aunt came to see me,' Mr Jamil told the police.
In his official report, Mr Omar said the nephew and his friends went into the wreckage 'and found many human skeletons and bones,' a report on freemalaysiatoday.com stated.
The site added: 'There was a skeleton still in the pilot's seat. The pilot had his safety belt on and the communication gear attached to his head and ears.'
A naval task force which landed on the Philippines island reported later today that initial checks with villagers on the island had failed to confirm the report.
Captain Giovanni Bacordo, commander of Naval Task Force 61, said a team of men on a gunboat had been sent to investigate the report but could not add any new information.
'We interviewed the people at the Sugbai Island (also known as Sugbay) - the fishermen - but they have no knowledge of it,' said Captain Bacordo.
'If we are too check thoroughly it has to be a deliberate effort. It's a big island, 3.5 miles long, but we did an initial investigation with the populace,' he told Philippines media.
Further investigations are to involve Mr Omar, 46, and his his aunt.
An officer admitted that if it was a hoax call, it did not make sense that Mr Omar should have given police his name and that of his aunt.
